SACH is a non-profit organization offering wrap around services for individuals and families facing health and social challenges. Our mission is to foster the health and well-being of underserved diverse communities living in British Columbia by providing low-barrier services, counselling, and advocacy through a South Asian perspective in multiple languages. We envision these communities to be strong, healthy, and thriving. Our values are to deliver services in a manner that is safe, accepting, compassionate, and holistic.

The SACH Approach

SACH was founded in February 2020, bringing together a small group of individuals who saw a need to support South Asian men and women who experience significant challenges related to substance use, mental health, and socioeconomic factors and are underserved by the existing healthcare system. In some cases, these men and women were living on the streets of Surrey. We began our journey by providing meals, blankets, clothing, harm reduction supplies and basic hygiene products through volunteers and donations. With the addition of funding from the BC Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions, we have been able to hire multi-lingual outreach workers who are able to connect with clients each week and in many cases, bridge them to mental health, substance use, and other ministry and health supports and services.
